• About Joel Feigenheimer

Joel Feigenheimer has worked for China Grill Management, Inc., for nine years as the Director of Corporate Purchasing. Feigenheimer is responsible for purchasing and development of all properties within China Grill Management’s restaurant portfolio. Since joining the company in 2002, Feigenheimer has brought the purchasing department from its infancy to an operating high of nearly $30 million in purchases. The company now owns over 25 locations in major cities, including New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, London, Chicago, and other key cities. Along the way, Feigenheimer has developed product-purchasing programs with existing restaurants while collaborating with new properties to create bar programs and purchasing programs. Joel Feigenheimer brings over three decades of hospitality experience to his position with the company.

Prior to his position with China Grill Management, Feigenheimer worked at Houlihan’s Old Place, where he advanced from Assistant Manager to Manager just a few years before transitioning to TGI Friday’s, Inc. In 1983, he bought his own restaurant, The Cranberry Bog, to critical acclaim in the extremely competitive New York restaurant scene; he increased the restaurant's sales dramatically with his active involvement in menu planning, front and back of house hiring/training, and concept design. During Feigenheimer’s time as owner, The Cranberry Bog expanded to include country club catering for up to 4,000 people, as well as multiple community involvement programs. While at the restaurant, Joel Feigenheimer’s desire to increase profitability through effective purchasing power inspired him to co-found the Restaurant Operator’s Cooperative, a group of over 100 independent restaurants. As Vice President of the co-op, Feigenheimer’s efforts ensured small restaurants could obtain a competitive edge by allowing them to achieve the bulk pricing and discount vendor programs afforded to large chain restaurants.

Joel Feigenheimer holds a Bachelor of Science in Restaurant Management from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. He has spoken on hospitality before students at State University of New York (SUNY) at Cobleskill and SUNY at Delhi, as well as Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, where he currently teaches Purchasing and Menu Planning as an adjunct professor. Joel Feigenheimer resides in Boca Raton, Florida.
